Process Operator

Be part of developing the textile industry of the future

About the role

As a process operator with us, you will work both in the control room, monitoring operations, and hands-on in the plant. You will be involved in running, analyzing, and improving the process – every day.

This is not a traditional production line where everything is already defined. Instead, you will play an important role in developing how the process should be controlled, operated, and optimized, while working with the team to ensure safe, efficient, and stable operations.

The role also includes troubleshooting and resolving issues in real time, both practically in the plant and using various system tools, as well as contributing to continuous improvements in quality, ways of working, and technology.

You will work closely with colleagues in production, engineering, and development, and your insights will be important in shaping our next steps. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and controlling the process from both the control room and the plant
  • Managing start-up, shutdown, and operation of process units in a safe manner
  • Troubleshooting disturbances and using analysis tools as support
  • Ensuring product quality through sampling and analysis
  • Performing preventive maintenance and participating in shutdowns
  • Actively working with safety, orderliness, and continuous improvement in production

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in the process industry who thrives in an environment where not everything is fully defined. You have several years of experience from the process industry, and preferably an educational background in process engineering, operations, or a related field.

You are accustomed to working with process control, preferably in DCS systems, and you demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and strong collaboration abilities in your way of working. At the same time, you have a strong interest in learning new things and developing alongside advancing technology.

You also need to be proficient in English, both spoken and written, and proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.

The role primarily involves intermittent 3‑shift work but will transition to continuous operations.

Why work with us?

Having employees who thrive, contribute, and show strong engagement is essential to our success. With us, you will help build a sustainable textile industry while having the opportunity to influence, develop, and grow.

You are not just one of many – you will take on a key role in a small company where your contributions are visible, impactful, and drive our continued development. To thrive with us, you are motivated by:

  • Building something new – not everything is fully defined; you contribute to both processes and ways of working
  • Working close to new technology – you are part of development, not just operations
  • Making a real difference – in a smaller organization, your ideas are noticed and acted upon
  • Growing quickly – we are on a growth journey where you can grow with us
  • Being part of a strong team with short decision paths – we collaborate closely and support each other daily

The company plans to expand, offering a bright future for those who want to grow into new and exciting roles.

About TreeToTextile

Swedish-based TreeToTextile is driving systemic change in the textile industry by providing next-generation cellulosic fiber for a resilient planet. Together with our committed owners Lenzing AG, H&M Group, Inter IKEA Group, Stora Enso, and LSCS Invest, TreeToTextile is developing a renewable and resource-efficient fiber with attractive properties and low environmental impact, affordable to all.

The fiber has the potential to complement or replace parts of the cotton, viscose, and polyester markets.

In 2023, TreeToTextile launched its demo plant in Nymölla, and in June 2024 the first bale of unoptimized fiber was produced. To make the fiber globally available, the next step is to build a flagship plant somewhere in Europe, followed by several large-scale sites globally in the coming years.

Today, TreeToTextile has around 60 employees and operates within a strong ecosystem of partners, including owners, consultants, and development partners.
