In conjunction with the Field Trip we hosted in May, in collaboration with OnceMore® from Södra, Textile Exchange and Challenge the Fabric, we took the opportunity to share the development of our EU LIFE TreeTex project.
The project is the first of its kind to demonstrate an all-alkaline production process for innovative cellulose fibers intended for textile applications. It is a crucial step in replicating and scaling production to other sites across Europe and globally.
As Frederic Van Houte, Director General of CIRFS, put it:
“It is imperative that we remain competitive in Europe and become less dependent on imported resources.”
